Formal Modeling and Analysis of Hybrid Systems: A Case Study in Multi-robot Coordination
نویسندگان
چکیده
The design of controllers for hybrid systems (i.e. mixed discretecontinuous systems) in a systematic manner remains a challenging task. In this case study, we apply formal modeling to the design of communication and control strategies for a team of autonomous robots to attain speci ed goals in a coordinated manner. The model of linear hybrid automata is used to describe the high-level design, and the veri cation software HyTech is used for symbolic analysis of the description. The goal of the project is to understand tradeo s among various design alternatives by generating constraints among parameters using symbolic analysis. In this paper, we report on di culties in modeling a team of robots using linear hybrid automata, results of analysis experiments, promise of the approach, and challenges for future research.

Using Formal Modelling with an Automated Analysis Tool to Design and Parametrically Analyze a Multi-robot Coordination Protocol: a case study
Many robot systems employ logic based or reactive controllers making them hybrid systems (i.e mixed discretecontinuous). However, designing such control laws in a systematic manner remains a challenging task. In this case study, we apply the formal modelling paradigm to a team of mobile robots. The linear hybrid automata modelling framework is used to describe the high-level design, and the ver...

متن کاملHybrid Time Delay Petri Nets as a Mathematical Novel Tool to Model Dynamic System with Current Sample Time
The existing modeling methods using Petri Nets, have been successfully applied to model and analyze dynamic systems. However, these methods are not capable of modeling all dynamic systems such as systems with the current sample time signals, systems including various subsystems and multi-mode systems. This paper proposes Hybrid Time Delay Petri Nets (HTDPN) to solve the problem. In ...

In the last two decades, product recovery systems have received increasing attention due to several reasons such as new governmental regulations and economic advantages. One of the most important activities of these systems is to assign returned products to suitable reverse manufacturing alternatives. Uncertainty of returned products in terms of quantity, quality, and time complicates the decis...
متن کاملRobust Hybrid Motion Force Control Algorithm for Robot Manipulators
In this paper we present a robust hybrid motion/force controller for rigid robot manipulators. The main contribution of this paper is that the proposed hybrid control system is able to accomplish motion objectives in free directions and force objectives in constrained directions under parametric uncertainty both in robot dynamics and stiffness constraint constant. Also, the given scheme is prov...
